Election Results

Elections for the new Travisty committee 08-09 were held at the AGM on Wednesday 23rd of Jan. The following candidates were elected:

Editor and President: Fan Yang
Deputy Editor and Treasurer: No candidate
Features Editor and Secretary: Georgia Hart
Sports and Activities Editor: No candidate
Photographer: Jase Taylor
Webmaster: Pete Calvert

The new committee will take over with the publication of the second issue of Lent Term.

Open Meeting and Changes to the Constitution

The next meeting, held on the 4th of February, will be an open meeting at which a motion to change parts of the constitution will be put to those present. The changes proposed are in response to the recent committee election results. Since there are no candidates willing to take on the combined roles of 'deputy editor and treasurer' and 'sports and activities editor' the following changes are proposed:

That the post of 'Features Editor and Secretary' becomes 'Deputy Editor and Secretary' with special responsibility for the Features section of the newsletter.
That 'Treasurer' is created as a separate position.
That the post of 'Sports and Activities Editor' is dissolved in the understanding that all on the editorial committee will take shared responsibility for the sports and activities pages.
That the following proviso is included in the constitution:
- 'Excluding the Editor and President and the Senior Treasurer, candidates may take on more than one position in the commitee should they so wish.'

Next Issue

The next issue of Travisty will be available on the website and in the Angel Court mailrooms from Friday the 1st of February.

Votes and Competitions

Please be aware that the votes for the Travisty emblem and for Trinny will close as of midnight on MONDAY 28TH of JAN.
